Dan Weiner - Vintage New York 1940-1959

Dan Weiner was a prominent street photographer in New York, who was active in 1940 - 1959. Originally from New York, Dan’s, “portrayal of the city life during a period of explosive growth and economic expansion is at once caring, inquisitive and critical, with a pronounced sociological bent” (Steven Kasher). Dan photographed the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., and the civil rights movement of the 1960s. His photographs have been displayed in the Museum of Modern Art, The New York Public Library and the International Center of Photography. The Steven Kasher Gallery, in Chelsea (NYC), recently exhibited Dan’s work, in his first solo exhibition in over a decade.
