You Fish, I’ll Shoot: Documenting The Lives Of Indian Fishermen

In this photo series, photographer Goutam Roy depicts the daily work life of fishermen living in Kharibari, India. Goutam, who calls himself a sailor by profession and a photographer by passion, started this project after coming across huge lakes in Kharibari and became fascinated by fishermen working there for about 10 hours a day for approximately $3. Having lots of issues to deal with, these men often have no other option but to work in the fishing industry. While the fishermen were eager to capture the best fish, Goutam Roy was eager to capture the best shots. Check out the series that captures the quiet dignity of the hard-working fishermen below...
