PROFOLIO: Neal Grundy

Neal Grundy is a freelance commercial photographer with fifteen years of experience. He has worked with Nike, Adidas, and Sneakers Magazine (to name a few). Neil states, "Freeze-motion imagery is back on trend in the advertising world. This is a great way to injecting explosive energy into still life photography. All ads aim to grab your attention, but, in our over-saturated media environment, this is increasingly difficult to achieve." Neil manages to catch the viewer's attention with his images and keep it. We asked Neil to walk us through some of his most excellent shots in this PROFOLIO…

1. Transient Sculpture

The sculpture exists for a split second in time; once photographed, it is otherwise lost forever, never to be re-created.

2. Nike

This image was produced using 1,000 Nike ticks laser cut from plastic. No cgi was used to produce this image.

3. Macky Gee Games

This image was produced for Drum and Bass Dj Macky Gees latest single.
This was one of the messiest shoots I have ever done. But I love the results and it was worth the mess in my opinion.

4. Diadora

This image was produced for Sneakers Magazine.
To produce this work, sneakers were suspended in a large glass tank full of water. I poured a mixture of colour matched paint, ink, and dye into the water, allowing the mix to blossom naturally and surround the sneaker.

5. Adidas

This image was produced for Adidas and Sneakers Magazine.
This project captures the explosions produced from the different colored glass when shot with a gun and other small controlled explosions.

6. Coffee

This image was commissioned by Coffee shop chain Harris and Hoole for their spring and summer campaign.

7. Tommy Hilfiger

This image was shot for SID Magazine.
To produce this image the fragrant bottle was suspended in a large glass tank full of water. I poured a mixture of colour matched paint, ink, and dye into the water, allowing the mix to blossom naturally and surround the bottle.

8. D30

This was commissioned by D30 Impact protection.
The Brief was to come up with a concept that shows off the product's breathable protection in an eye-catching way.
