Last year COOPH featured New York-based photographer Phyllis Galembo, in “Divine Inspiration.” Recently Phyllis published a new photo book titled, “Mexico Masks Rituals.” In this art book, Phyllis captures, “cultural performances with a subterranean political edge.” Each photograph portrays the subject wearing traditional dress and costumes. COOPH joined Phyllis for the opening party for the release of her book. The event was held at Howl! Arts, in East Village, Manhattan. The book was published by Radius Books / D.A.P., with text by Sergio Rodriguez Blanco and George Otis.
