Becoming a Specter

Becoming a Specter

Influenced by Arthur Rimbaud and Roland Barthes, Daniel W. Coburn’s, “Becoming a Specter,” transcends black and white photography, into something deeper, mysterious and ephemeral. According to Daniel, “Becoming a Specter mingles the domestic with the celestial…” The work was created in 2017, with the support of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship. Daniel has been featured in: The New York Times, Photo District News and LensCulture. The exhibition, “Becoming a Specter,” was on show at the Elizabeth Houston Gallery, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York this past August.
