Upon first moving to Tokyo, Japanese photographer Yoshinori Mizutani was struck by the surprising number of green parrots in the city. The parrots were originally brought to Japan as pets in the 1970s from tropical regions, but a population of wild parrots now inhabit Toyko’s trees and exist as a recurring theme in Yoshinori’s work.
We asked the photographer some questions, questions he could only answer with his bright, bold images...
Who are you?

What is your trademark photographic style?
What truly inspires you?
Where do you go when you close your eyes?
Where is home for you?
How would you describe your lifestyle?
What makes a great shot?
How do you view the world?
