The Museum of Modern Art (NYC), is currently exhibiting the photography show titled: Being: New Photography 2018. The biennial’s initial inception was in 1985, and since then has introduced more than 100 international artists. The current reincarnation of the exhibit (Being) explores the notion of the photographic depiction of what it means to be human. Photographers across the globe, push the envelope of the medium, challenging the viewers comprehension of not just the subject matter, but the display of the physical work itself. MOMA states in their press release, “Together, they explore how personhood is expressed today, and offer timely perspectives on issues of privacy and exposure; the formation of communities; and gender, heritage, and psychology.”
