After discovering a suitcase from 1959 which belonged to an unsuccessful beauty counsellor named Darlene, Norwegian photographer Anja Niemi was inspired by its contents. In the suitcase she found makeup samples and only two receipts, both items bought by Darlene herself. In this photo series, Niemi also steps in front of the camera to take on the multiple characters of Darlene and explore split personalities and the relationships we have with ourselves.
