By using two cuts of rope, we have created a broader surface area. So, when the strap rests on your neck it distributes the weight, perfect for photographers carrying heavier cameras. The new design is made using the same sturdy mountaineering rope as the award-winning classic strap, as well as the same vegetable-tanned leather on the ends.

But there is a lot more to this essential piece of equipment. We wanted our camera straps to provide perfect solutions for every photographer and all kinds of cameras. Our Leica Double Rope Strap is designed specifically for carrying heavier cameras with large lenses. Made of two ropes instead of one, it provides additional strength and creates a bigger surface leading to improved stress distribution on your neck so you can stay loose and shoot in style.

About the material

When you manufacture camera straps, choosing the right material is key. Designed to carry the weight of bigger cameras, our Leica Double Rope Straps just had to be made of a robust material that has proven its durability under extreme stress. So what better material could you think of then high-quality mountaineering rope? The heavy-duty material ensures the safety of your camera, while providing a rugged yet stylish look. The end pieces are made of vegetable-tanned Italian leather and are firmly sewn onto the wear-resistant climbing ropes by hand. The Leica Double Rope Straps are available with two different fastening options: you can choose between SO straps or solid metal rings.

Hand-made in Hungary

There is something fascinating about hand-made products. You can literally feel the love and dedication that flows into the creation of those truly unique pieces of artisan craftwork. That is why we attach great priority to finding production facilities that meet the standards, we set ourselves in terms of quality, local production, and social responsibility. Our Leica Double Rope Straps are produced in a small family-run workshop in Hungary. Carefully crafted by hand every strap is the result of skilled workmanship combined with a passion for detail.

Great value, high quality, double rope strap. ideal for the SL2

I purchased a single rope strap for my D-Lux and was very pleased so I bought another one for my SL2. I went for the double rope in red and recommend the longer length which allows for more flexibility in use. The strap is very well made and very strong. The double rope seems to be more comfortable, given the weight of the SL2 and lens. The order was dispatched quickly and arrived in the UK within 4 days.
