Vernacular Universalism / Freemasonry in Haiti and Beyond opened on May 25th, in New York City. Featured were, original art works by Haitian, European and American artists. At the center of the show was twenty photographs, displayed in the shape of crosses. These images are shot by documentary photographer Leah Gordon, who has been photographing Haiti for over twenty-five years. Her portraits of the Freemasons of Haiti, display a mystical, and powerful presence.
Other artist included in the exhibition were: Yves Delva, The Venerable Master Mason Ernest Dominique, Marg Duston, Andre Eugene, Lazaros, Michel Lafleur and Molej Zamour. The exhibit was curated by Leah, with scenography by Marg Duston and Leah.
