PROFOLIO: Maciek Jasik

Maciek Jasik is a self-taught Polish-born American visual artist. His primary focus centers around Western society’s relationship with nature and concerns questions of identity, representation, and the self.

In 2009, Maciek began the two series titled, ‘A Thousand Souls,’ and ‘Bypassing the Rational.’ Each series employs an in-camera color technique as a visual representation in questioning ideas of identity and image. Out of these series, he has expanded his use of color in approaching his Las Vegas project, ‘A Corrupt Nature’ (2013), which examines America’s relationship with nature. In ‘The Secret Lives (2016), Maciek examined concepts of the mystical origins of fruits and vegetables. Currently, he is working on two new series, ‘Deeply-Ordered Chaos,’ and a second project called, ‘The World With Us.”
‘Bypassing the Rational’ opened in November 2012 as a solo exhibition at the Dan Cooney Gallery in New York.
