Celebrating Bill Cunningham

Celebrating Bill Cunningham

Photographer Bill Cunningham raised the bar for street photography in New York City in the 1980s. Originally a fashion designer for women’s hats, Bill began taking photographs in 1978. Bill’s work was often featured in The New York Times, and he was most noted for his unassuming image of actress Greta Garbo. Bill died in 2016. The New-York Historical Society, is currently exhibiting his work, in a show titled: Celebrating Bill Cunningham. The show features his photography, the bike he rode through the streets of New York on, and his first camera. If you are in New York, you can catch the show, which runs through September 9th, 2018.
