French photographer Romain Thiery became fascinated by urban photography back in 2009. The interest has since inspired him to document abandoned buildings across Europe, which he locates with the use of satellite imaging software. His recent project ‘Abandoned Places’ depicts the dilapidated beauty of long-forgotten places. He says; “The aesthetics and architecture of the places are the most important things to me. They only exist through the traces of my photography; and it’s my greatest wish to keep track of what falls into oblivion."
